Hayes for a permit to install an oversized driveway in conjunction with the reconstruction of an existing filling station on property located on the south side of Stillwater Avenue between Hazel and Algonquin Streets. The legal descrip- tion is Lot 2, Block 18, Beaver Lake Heights Addition. The zoning is Commercial and has been since the adoption of the Ordinance in 1922. The tract is presently developed with a filling station and repair garage operation for which the applicant proposes to install a 30 foot driveway to serve both the garage and the gasoline pump island. The property under consideration has a frontage of 60 feet on Stillwater Avenue and extends to a depth of 100 feet, resulting in an area of 6,000 square feet. How- ever, the applicant is presently using two adjoining lots to the east as part of his operation which use is illegal as the lots are zoned Residential. In order to correct the situation, he has circulated and filed a petition to rezone these two lots from "A" Residential to Commercial. It•appears desirable to take action on the oversized driveway at this time inasmuch as Stillwater Avenue is being paved, and it is advantageous to install all necessary curb cuts at this time under the present contract.
