WHEREAS, the Department of Health, Education and
Welfare of the United States Government has invited a pro-
posal ,.by the City of Saint Paul relating to the establish-
ment and operation of a central information and referral
service, particularly for the chronically ill, the aged
and the disabled,and relating to the availability of
community health, medical and other social resources available
in the area for such people; and
WHEREAS, the cost of said referral service is to
be borne solely by the United States Government Department
of Health, E ducation and Welfare by reimbursement to the
City of Saint Paul for such funds as may be expended; and
WHEREAS, said proposal has been invited for the
period January 1, 1962 to December 31, 1964, and said
services when established will cooperate with all interested
agencies now assisting in the care and treatment of the
chronically ill, aged and disabled, and it is in the in-
terests of the City of Saint Paul that said referral service
be established and maintained;
NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that proper City
officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of-the City of Saint Paul,. a proposal relating�to
the establishment of said referral service on forms supplied
by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare; and
BE IT FURTHER
