WHEREAS, The City of St. Paul through its Commissioner of Public Works
has investigated the possibility and desirability of grading and surfacing
Larpenteur Avenue from Arcade Street to,Parkway'Drive, and
WHEREAS, Petitioners owning the property on the south side of Larpenteur
Avenue have petitioned to have said street graded and surfaced, and
WHEREAS, The boundary line between the City of St. Paul and the Village
of Maplewood falls within the right -of -way of said street, and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of St. Paul believes that this
improvement should be made and is prepared to assess the property owners
living within the City on construction costs on an equitable basis, now,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Village of Maplewood is hereby requested to consider
the matter of grading and surfacing Larpenteur Avenue from Arcade Street to
Parkway Drive as a joint venture with the City of St. Paul and others who may
have an interest, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Pubiic'Works and his staff are hereby
authorized to enter into such preliminary negotiations with the Village of
Maplewood and others as maybe necessary to further this improvement with a
view of arriving at'mutual agreeable conditions for consideration for the
Council, and be it further
RESOLVED, That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to send a copy of
this resolution to the Village of Maplewood.
