Ward In the matter of the assessment o£ benefits, cost and expenses for
TR0701 (8300) Tenant remedy action rehabilitation for the property at 941 Edmund
in January, 2007.
The assessment o£ benefits, cost and expenses for and in connection with the
above improvement having been submitted to the Council, and the Council having
considered same and found the said assessment satisfactory, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the said assessment be and the same is hereby in all respects
approved.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That a public hearing be had-on said assessment on the 4th
day of April, 2007 at the hour of 5:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building, in the City of St. Paul; that the Valuation and
Assessment Engineer give notice of said meetings, as required by the Charter, stating
in said notice the time and place o£ hearing, the nature of the improvement, and the
amount assessed against the lot or lots of the particular owner to whom the notice is
directed.

A new state law, entitled Tenant Remedies Action, provided authority for individule and organization to seek court assistance in
facilitating the repair of properties with numerous code violadons. The court appointed an administrator who petfotmed the necessary
repairs on this property. The administrator then invoiced the City for the cost.

The City will be able to recover the cost of repairing this condemned properiy and making it safe and habitable. The City also can
replenish its funds for fulure rehabiGtation work through the Tenants Remedy Action Progruu.
