1 WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities would like to donate the cost for a City of
2 St. Paul, Police Department, law enforcement representative to attend the 6th Annual Crime Prevention
3 Conference in Washington, D.C., October 11-14, 2003; and

WHEREAS, the estimated total cost for this conference is $1,413; and
WHEREAS, the St. Paul Police Department would like to accept this donation from the Boys and
Girls Club of the Twin Cities; and
WHEREAS, a St. Paul Police Department representative will attend the conference with a
representative from the Boys and Girls Club and a representative from Minneapolis; and
WHEREAS, this conference provides training in topic areas such as "Law Enforcement Strategies for
Connecting with Children and Youth", "Delinquency Prevention Approach for At-Risk Youth",
"Gang Prevention/Intervention Through Targeted Outreach", etc.; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to provide youth delinquency prevention and gang
intervention/prevention training to a St. Paul Police Department representative and to network with
experts and practitiouers in crime prevention; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul accepts this generous donation and extends its sincere
thanks to the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities.
