RESOLVE�, that the rate of pay for the classification of Building Code
Officer be c�anged from the rate set forth in Grade 31, Section ID4, to
Grade 32, Se tion ID4, of the Professional Supervisory Standard Ranges in
the Salary P an and Rates of Compensation; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect and be in
force on the first pay period after the passage, approval, and publication
of this reso ution.

Officer sho�ld be revised to reflect a clarification of duties and a
change in t�e minimum qualifications. I have included a copy of the
specificati n for your review. Please notify me within twenty days
of receipt f this memo, if you wish to discuss these changes. If I
do not hear from you within that timeframe, I will assume agreement
and will pr ceed with the process.
I will also be processing a resolution increasing the rate of pay for
the Building Code Officer classification from SPSO Grade 31 to Grade
32.

WHAT WILL ACHIEVED BY TAKIN ACTION ON THE ATTAC ED MATERI LS?
This resol tion will increase the rate of pay for the Building Code
Officer classification from SPSO Grade 31 to SPSO Grade 32. This
action is �a result of a classification and compensation study, which
was perforkned at the request of the Community Services Director. The
position �as compared to other Community Service division heads
(currentlylpaid in SPSO Grade 32) and evaluated using the
Quantitati�,�ve Evaluation System. The comparisons showed that the
duties and; responsibilities of the Building Code Officer
classifica;tion were equivalent to those performed by other division
heads in Cpmmunity Services, and the QES evaluation placed the rate
of pay in ISPSO Grade 32.

COST BENEF T BUDGETARY AND PERSONNEL IMPACTS ANTICIPATED:
Cost: Thi action affects one individual for a total additional cost
of $1,77i. 0 per year.
Additional cost in 1988: None. Implementation anticipated for after
December 3 , 1988.
