Whereas, The S� Paul Police Department 7uvenile Unit is sceldng endorsement to sponsor a graduation
awards banquet at the 7immy Lee Recreation Center, 1063 Iglehart Avenue on Saturday, February 25,
1995, for the St. Paul Police Youth Initiative Aviation Academy graduafion.
The purpose of this banquet is to recognize and honor the grnduates who successfully accomplished the
following goaLs; Improved consiructive interacfions between youth, Law Enforcement Officers, and adult
community leaders. Participated in adulUyouth mentor relationship and completed aviation ground school
training in preparation for the Federal Aviation Administration Private Pilot written elcamination. The
graduates aze twenty—four pnrticipants who are at "risk" youth, St. Paul Police Officers, and adult
community leader role models_
The Aviation Acade is funded by a grant from the Minnesota State Department of Public Safety as part
of the St. Paul Poli Department Youth Liaison Program.
RESOLVED, that the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to remit payment to the Goodwill
Industries Inc_ Easter Seal Society of 1vlinnesota for the above mentioned banquet for meals only, an
amount not to excced $1,30Q.00 from account code (101-041QQ--0219-�4QQ15. No alcoholic beverages will
be purchased with these fimds.
