WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has traditionally hosted a reception
for mayors and public officials from other communities in Minnesota
during the Saint Paul Winter Carnival celebration; and
WfIEREAS, the City of Saint Paul benefits from these Mayors who come to
Saint Paul, stay at our hotels, dine in our restaurants and shop in
our retail centers; and
Investors

has given the City of Saint Paul a gift in
the City by a formal resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City plans to use this $500.00 to purchase certificates
that can be redeemed at participating downtown restaurants and award
them to visiting mayors as door prizes; and
WHEREAS, the Bank of Saint Paul has offered to coordinate the
redemption of the certificates (in the same manner it does for the
Three for Free parking program);
NOW, THEREFORE, the proper City officials are hereby authorized to
issue a check to the Bank of Saint Paul for $500.00, which will be
deposited into an account in the City of Saint Paul's name to cover
the ten certificates that will be printed in the amount of $50.00
each.
This account will be Closed on July 15, 1995 and any remaining funds
in the account will be returned to the City of Saint Paul for deposit
in account 050-30113.
