Resolution - 93-691 - honoring the Boys and Girls Club Midwest Regional Class A Co-ed � Volleyball Tournament Champions. Councilmember Grimm introduced Gill Zamora, the coach and three members of the volleyball team. Councilmember Grimm congratulated them on their victories and commended the staff and volunteers for their time. Councilmember Thune arrived during this presentation. Mr. Zamora thanked the Councilmembers and challenged them to a volleyball game with the team. Councilmember Grimm moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 5 Nays - 0 33. Resolution - 93-692 - honoring the Johnson Hawks Pee Wee A-Team, parents and coaches ,�-�-�- #or their dedication and determination in the 1993 Friendship Toumament held in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Councilmember Grimm noted that representatives of the Pee Wee team could not be present and read the resolution into the record. " Councilmember Grimm congratulated the team and moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 5 Nays - 0 ` Councilmember Rettman recognized three representatives of Boy Scout Troop # 52 from Olivet United Church of Christ. They explained that they were attending the Council meeting to further work on their Citizenship and Communications badges. Councilmember Guerin arrived at this point in the meeting. ORDINANCES 24. Final Adoption - 93-471 - An interim ordinance imposing a temporary moratorium on location of gun shops within 1,000 feet of protected uses such as playgrounds, schools and day care centers. (Human Services, Health and Business Regulation Committee recommends approval - Public Hearing held May 13th) Councilmember Maccabee moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 285 � May 20, 1993 25. Final Adoption - 93-557 - An ordinance amending Chapter 60 of the Legislative Code pertaining to zoning to finalize Council approval of a petition of HRA/Ron's Bar to rezone property at 160 Milford Street to P-1. (Public Hearing held May 13th) �rACouncilmember Rettman moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 PUBLIC HEARINGS: 26. Third Reading - 93-618 - An ordinance amending Chapter 60 of the Legislative Code pertaining to zoning to finalize City Council approval of a petition of North End Medical Center to rezone property at 121 Manitoba Avenue to P-1 to allow a parking lot. No one appeared in opposition. Laid over until May 27th for Final Adoption. 27. Third Reading - 93-619 - An ordinance amending Chapter 78 of the Administrative Code , entitled "Elections-Election Judges" to provide for the setting of compensation and related expenses of election judges by resolution. (For Action) No one appeared in opposition. Laid over until May 27th for Final Adoption. 28. Third Reading - 93-334 - An ordinance amending the Legislative Code by enacting a provision relating to the regulation of harassing conduct. (Intergovernmental Relations Committee recommends approval of substitute ordinance) Dorothy Romans, 961 E. Hawthorne Avenue spoke in support of the ordinance explaining that she is being harassed by a neighbor and the Police have been unable io do anything at this point. Councilmember Maccabee reviewed the impact of this ordinance and spoke in favor of its adoption. Councilmember Grimm encouraged people who were being harassed to call the Police and thanked Ms. Romans for testifying. Laid over until May 27th for Final Adoption. 29. Resolution -93-689 - approving an application for an On Sale Liquor (including) Sunday, Restaurant-B and Gambling Location Ucenses by L& T Uquors Inc. dba Kelly's Pub at 741 , Edmund Avenue. No one appeared in opposition. �� Councilmember Thune moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 30. Resolution - 93-690 - approving an application for an On Sale Wine and Malt, Restaurant and Entertainment Class I License by Salt & Pepper Corp. dba Lee's New Village Inn at 800 S. Cleveland Avenue. No one appeared in opposition. Councilmember Maccabee moved approval. Adopted Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 286 May 20, 1993 31. Resolution - 93-513 - approving vacation of Myrtle Avenue between Raymond Avenue and LaSalle Street by the Update Company, McCann Developments, Cole-Sewell Corp., Specialty Manufacturing Co., Gust Kempf, Jr., and Thomas W. Norton. (Laid over from Aprii 29th)(Laid over in Public Works Committee until 6-3-93) No one appeared in opposition. Counciimembers Thune and Maccabee moved to lay the matter over until June 3rd in accordance with the Public Works Committee recommendation. Roil Call Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 £ :� Laid over until June 3rd. Council President Wilson asked that the following resolution be brought in under suspension and referred to the Finance Committee. Following a brief discussion on the proposed pay equity changes and the short time line in which the Council needed to act, Councilmember Maccabee moved suspension of the rules and referral to the Fnance Committee. Adopted Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 Resolution changing the rate of pay for 38 female-dominated classifications. Councilmember Maccabee moved referral to Finance Committee. Roll Call Yeas - 6 Nays - 0 Referred to Finance Committee. All Councilmembers moved to adjourn the meeting.
