Councilmember Rettman introduced �ctor Camp, Director of Como Park Zoo and tvanhoe
the Aardvark, a visitor at the Zoo. Mr. Camp said that Ivanhoe is only one of two aardvarks
in the United States and he is touring the country.
Councilmembers asked questions of Mr. Camp and the zoo assistants who accompanied
Ivanhoe to the meeting.
ORDINANCES
17. Final Adoption - 93-905 - An ordinance amending chapters 85, 87 thru 94 of the Legislative
Code pertaining to the rules and regulations of the Saint Paul Water Utility as recommended
by the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul. (Public Hearing held July
8th)

18. First Reading - 93-998 - An ordinance amending Chapter 60 of the Legislative Code to
finaliie City Council approval of a petition of Saint Paul Ramsey Medical Center to rezone

21. Resolution - 93-820 - designating the Saint Paul Public Schools and the Consortium of
Catholic Schools for the Future to receive Institutional Network equipment grants. (Public
Works Committee recommends approval as amended)
Councilmember Thune said the Public Works Committee recommended approval of both
proposals and moved approval as amended.

22. Resolution - 93- 940 - appointing a representative to the Phalen Chain of Lakes Watershed
Management Steering Committee. (Public Works Committee recommends approval)
Councilmember Rettman asked that the City Clerk's Office request the Mayor's Office to
respond in writing to the Council, as to whether Ann Cieslak can remain as the appointed
representative while employed by the City of Saint Paul as a Crime Prevention Coordinator.
Councilmembers Grimm and Thune moved approval.

Couneilmember Rettman asked if Ann Cieslak would have to step down from being a Parks
Commissioner or after she has been appointed as a Crime Prevention Coordinator.
Councilmember Thune said they heard the matter in Committee and they were ok with her
