An ordinance to amend Chapter 34
of the Saint Paul Legislative Code
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Sec. 34.21. Notice to correct violations.
(1) Notification of violation. Whenever an enforcement officer
determines that there has been a violation of this chapter,
notice may be provided to the owner or occupant to take the
appropriate steps to correct the violations. The notice
shall:
(a)
(b)
Be in writing; and
Include a description of the real estate sufficient for
identification;
(c) Specify the violation which exists and the remedial
action required; and
(d) Include a statement that the order may be appealed to
the Legislative Hearing Officer in accordance with the
procedures set forth in section 34.23.
(2) Service of notice. Service of an order shall be adequate if
provided by (1) personal service, (2) U.S. mail, or (3) if
the appropriate party or address cannot be determined after
reasonable effort, by posting a copy of the order in a
conspicuous place on the premises. Provided, however, that
in the case of rental housing, notice shall be sent by
