Sec. 162.10. Sale of vehicle.
(a) Procedure, method. If at the expiration of fifteen (15) days after mailing or publishing the
notice provided for in Section 162.03 such vehicle is not redeemed by the owner or his
agent, the chief of police, by and through the pnrekasing-ager�E contract and analvsis
services section of this city, shall proceed to sell the same by sealed bid or by public
auction, after first giving notice of such sale in a legal newspaper within the City of Saint
PauI, such notice to be pubFished not less than ten (10) days prior to the dafe of such sale
as aforesaid, and said notice of sale to include therein the time and place of such sale,
stating further whether such sale shall be by sealed bid or by public auction or both.
Records stating with reasonable certainty the manufacturer's trade name, vehicle
identification number, license number, ownership, if available from the records of the
commissioner of public safety, shall be kept and availabTe far public inspection at the
place of sale. Determination of whether the sale shall be by sealed bid ar public auction
shall be left to the discretion of the purel� contract and analysis services
section and the chief of police, or agents, or either.
(b) Special use by police prior to sale. The chief of police, at the expiration of thirty (30)
days after mailing or publishing a notice provided for in Section 162.03, may use such
vehicles as are necessary far special police purposes of the City of Saint Paul. When such
vehicles are of no fiuther use for these purposes, the chief of potice shall notify the
pnrehasing-xge� contract and analysis services section mana�er , who shall proceed to
sell the same by sealed bid or by public auction after first giving notice of such sale in a
legal newspaper within the City of Saint Paul. Said norice shall be published not less th
ten (10) days prior to the date of such sale as aforesaid and said notice shall include � 25 �,`
therein the time and piace of said sale, stating further whether such sale shall be by sealed

Section 2
Section 162, Impounding of Vehicles, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec.162.14. Chapter to be included in bid.
This chapter shall be and constitute part of any bid advertised by the p�relrasing-ager�f
contract and analysis services section and of any contract entered into with the city by any
contract tower, as fully and to the same effect as if set forth at length in said contract; and if any
part or portion of any such contract entered into shall be inconsistent with the terms of this
chapter, the provision hereof shall in aFI respects prevail.
Section 3
That this ordinance revision shall take affect and be in force thirty (30) days after its passage,
approval and publication.
