WHEREAS, Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes §462.357 and §64.400 of the Legislative Code, David Goldsmith
duly petitioned to rezone 124 East Page Street being legally descrlbed as PART NORTH OF ALLEY AS

WHEREAS, the Zoning Committee of the Platmiug Commission held a public hearing on May 15, 2003, for
the purpose of considering the rezoning petition, and pursuant to § 1 Q7.03 of the Administrative Code,
submitted its recommendation to the Planning Commission that the petition be granted; and
WIIEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the rezoning petition at its meeting held on May 23, 2003,
and recommended that the City Council approve the petifion; and
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing before the City Council on said rezoning petition was duly published in
the official newspaper of the City on June 23, 2003, and notices were duly mailed to each owner of affected
property and property situated wholly or partly within 35Q feet ar the property sought to be rezoned; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council having been conducted on June 23, 2003, at which all
interested parties were given an opportunity to be heard, the Council having considered all the facts and
recommendations concerning the petition; now, therefore
THE COUNCTL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:

Atien Lovejoy presented the staff report with a recommendation of approval to rezone.
Mr. Goidsmith, the appficant, was not present, af�er some deliberation it was decided that Mr. Golyer was
allowed to testify on Mr. Goldsmiths behalf.
Michaet Golyer, represertative of the applicant, stated he would answer questions.
At the question o4 Commissioner Alton, Mr. Goiyer, stated the business side of building has been empty for
two to three years and Mr. Go{dsmifh has owned the property for five years.

The pubiic hearing was closed.
Commissioner Field requested as a matter of public record that Mr: Gofdsmith submit a written statement that
Mr. Golyer was Mr. Gotdsmith `s representative.
Commissioner Kramer moved to approve the rezoning. Commissioner Faricy seconded the motion.
The motion passed by a vote of 7-0.
