' State Pire Code--Adoption. ,z ,s Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 299F.011, and Minnesota Rule 7510.3510, the �7}aae�eEaklaife� ,a State Fire Code, one (1) copy of which has been marked as the official copy and which is on file in the o�ce of ,5 the city cierk, is hereby adopted as the fire code for the Ciry of Saint Paul, Minnesota, for the purpose of ,e prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion. Every ,� provision contained in the ^^'^^^°^'^ "^:'^�^� State Fire Code, except as hereinafter amended, is hereby ,8 adopted and made a part of this chapter as if fully set forth herein. The scope of these regulations is intended ,s to be consistent with Minnesota Statutes, Section 299F.011. zo z, Sec. 55.02. Enforcement. zz 23 The chief of the department of fire and safety services (hereinafter for convenience of reference "chief' or fire za chief) or his authorized representatives shall enforce the provisions of this chapter. The fire chief may detail �5 such members of the fire department as inspectors as shall from time to time be necessary. zs z� Sec. 55.03. Penalties. ss (a) Unless othenvise stated herein, any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this code hereby ss adopted or fail to comply therewith, or who shali violate or fail to comply with any order made thereunder, or s� who shall build in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted thereunder, or any ss certificate or permit issued thereunder, and from which no appeal has been taken, or who shall fail to comply ss with such an order as affirmed or modified by the fire chief or his authorized representative or by a court of �o competentjurisdiction within the time fixed herein, shall severally for each and every such violation and �, noncompliance, respectively, be guiity of a misdemeanor violation. This new code has some ommissions from the previous state f�e code that can seriously affect fue safety in Saint Paul, so local amendments are needed to correct those omissions.
