The functional classification of streets shall be shown on the map entifled 3"Functional Street Classification" which accompanies this chapter and which is incorporated into this 4 chapter and made a part thereof. 5(d} Spacing. Ttie spacing between signs sha11 apply to advertising signs on the same side of the same 6(e) �rtensions, cutauts or top lettering. Any rectangular advertising sign may contain ea�tensio touts or 7 top lettering which occupy a total azea not in excess of twenty-five (25) percent of the azea o e basic 8 advertising sign and form an integral part of the design thereof; and provided further, tha o such 9 extension, cutout or top lettering may project more than sia� (6) feet from the top, eight (18) inches from 10 either side or fifteen (15) inches from the bottom of the basic rectangulaz advertisin essage. The area of 11 an ea�tension, cutout or top lettering shall be deemed to be the area of the smallest gle into which such 12 e�rtension, cutout or top lettering will fit. 13 ( fl Measurement of spacing. The spacing between signs shali be measuted by roj ecting the nearest points 14 of the signs to the property line of the right-of-way from which they are int ded to be read and measuring 15 the distance in a suaight line between the projected points. The determina on of whether an advertising 16 sign is intended to be read from a roadway should be based upon, but n limited to, the following factors: 17 the angle of the sign to the roadway, the dwation of the view from the oadway, the distance the sign is 18 from the roadway, the size of the sign relative to the classification of e roadway, and any obstructions to 19 the view from the roadway. 20 (g) Height. The height of advertising signs may be measured fro the grade of the sign or surface of the 21 roadway, whichever is higher. Surface of the roadway shall be e main bed of the roadway, from which the 22 sign is intended to be read, at the location of the sign. The h' t shall not be measured from any entrance 23 or exit ramps associated with the roadway. 24 (h) Roof signs. The determina on of whether an advertising 16 sign is intended to be read from a roadway should be based upon, but n limited to, the following factors: 17 the angle of the sign to the roadway, the dwation of the view from the oadway, the distance the sign is 18 from the roadway, the size of the sign relative to the classification of e roadway, and any obstructions to 19 the view from the roadway. 20 (g) Height. The height of advertising signs may be measured fro the grade of the sign or surface of the 21 roadway, whichever is higher. Surface of the roadway shall be e main bed of the roadway, from which the 22 sign is intended to be read, at the location of the sign. The h' t shall not be measured from any entrance 23 or exit ramps associated with the roadway. 24 (h) Roof signs.
