ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER,
WHEREAS, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Education and Special Events sponsors fee
based programs to raise dollars for operating programs, and
WF3EREAS, Como Park and Conservatory Education uses the following businesses to provide
food for the birthday parly programs: Dominos Pizza (Pierce Butler, Saint Paul, MN) and Cub
Foods (1440 University Ave W., Saint Paul), and food is purchased for the number ofpre-paid
reservation guests only, and
WHEREAS, the birthday party events planned for 2004 are expected to generate a net revenue
of approximately $4,500 and the teas will generate $5,000, and
WHEREAS, Como Park and Conservatory Special Events uses the following business to
provide food for the teas: McHattie's Victarian Times Tea House (10350 Bailey Rd.,
Woodbury, NiN), and
� OW, THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory
ucation and Special Events Departments are authorized to purchase food items and to pay
companies who provide food for birthday party events in the amount not to exceed $2,000.,
and food for teas in the amount not to exceed $2,500.

The Campus education department offers birthday paxties as part of theu education pxogram. The Special events depulwent sponsors
teas as a fundraising event. Food is an essential component of both events. The events aze reservation only and food is pucctiased for
the numbez of pxe-paid guests only.
Advantages If Approvetl:
Birthday parties and teas can be scheduled. They not only are a source of ineome for the campus and aze expected to generate $9,500.
They also draw visitors to the Carapus and aquaint them with all can�pus offerings.
