2. Letter from the Office of License, Inspections and Environmental Protection announcing a public
hearing before the City Council on June 5, 1996, to consider the appeal of Waldon Baranuk to a decision
of the Board of Zoning Appeals requiring the removal of existing front yard parking spaces as a
condition of approval for a variance to allow construction of a second detached garage at 54 Manitoba
Avenue.
3. Letter from the Office of License, Inspections and Environmental Protection announcing a public
hearing before the City Council on June 5, 1996, to consider the appeal of Degidio's restaurant, John
Degidio, to a decision of the Board of Zoning Appeals granting setback and parking variances to allow
construction of a new building and parking lot for the Salvation Army at 401 West 7th Street.

through integrating communication strategies into service delivery.
. D00928 Authorizing the Office of Human Resources to reimburse various vendors the amount of
$8,225.00 for costs incurred in conducting employee relations and recognition programs in 1996.
. D00929 Amending the 1996 budget in the Division of Public Health by transferring spending
authority from 33240 to 33253 Lead Based Paint Inspections and 33245 House calls Lead
Program.
. D00930 Amending the 1996 budget in the Division of Public Health by transferring spending
authority between various Housing Inspection Complaint activities.
. D00931 Addition of $2,514.00 to the contract for Civic Center Expansion, CP -4 Building
Construction.
. D00932 Amending the 1996 Capital Improvement Budget in the Department of Public Works by
adding Water Utility financing to the 1996 Residential Street Paving Program.
. D00933 Amending the 1994 Capital Improvement Budget in the Division of Parks and Recreation
for the Downtown Children's Play Area.
. D00934 Addition of $12,579.00 to the contract for West Minnehaha Recreation Center parking lot
reconstruction.

5. Resolution - 96 -552 - Approving the appointment of Councilmember Dan Bostrom and the
reappointment of Councilmember Michael Harris to the Saint Paul Civic Center Authority. (To be laid
over one week for adoption)
6. Resolution - 96 -553 - Approving payment of $5,500.00 to Brian K. Stanford in full settlement of his
claim against the City of Saint Paul.
7. Resolution - 96 -554 - Accepting the Council Investigation and Research Center Report "Moving City
Payroll to a Direct Deposit System ".

8. Resolution - 96 -555 - Amending the 1996 budget in the Office of Human Resources to reflect
collection of training fees.
9. Resolution - 96 -556 - Amending the 1996 Capital Improvement Budget in the Department of Public
Works by increasing 1996 MSA Contingency by $283,982.00.
10. Resolution - 96 -557 - Establishing spending authority consistent with amount of Federal Emergency
Management Agency grant for construction projects at Harriet Island.
11. Resolution - 96 -558 - Canceling registered bills sent to Chautauqua on the River in the amount of
$40,914.14.
12. Resolution - 96 -559 - Authorizing the Division of Parks and Recreation to enter into a three -year
sponsorship agreement with Midwest Coca Cola Bottling Company for the Gus Macker 3 -on -3
Basketball Tournament.
13. Resolution - 96 -560 - Authorizing the Division of Parks and Recreation to sell 3.2 beer and wine at
Tent Events at Harriet Island Park from June 7, 1996 to September 8, 1996 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00
p.m.
14. Resolution - 96 -561 - Authorizing the Division of Parks and Recreation to sell 3.2 beer and wine at
the Public Dock Opening at Harriet Island Park on Sunday, June 9, 1996 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
15. Resolution - 96 -562 - Authorizing the Division of Parks and Recreation to sell 3.2 beer and wine at
the Norwest River Rendezvous at Harriet Island Park on Saturday, July 20, 1996 from 12:00 p.m. to
10:00 P.M.
16. Resolution - 96 -563 - Authorizing the Division of Parks and Recreation to sell 3.2 beer and wine at
the Minnesota Orchestra Concert at Harriet Island Park on Saturday, September 7, 1996 from 2:00 p.m.
to 10:00 P.M.
17. Resolution - 96 -564 - Authorizing KMJZ Radio or its vendors to sell 3.2 beer and wine using the
Division of Parks and Recreation's license on August 10, 1996 at the Minnesota Jazz Festival from
11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
18. Resolution - 96 -565 - Authorizing the Real Estate Division to refund Land Title, Inc. assessment
payments in the amount of $13,522.52 and reinstate them to property at 865 Grand Avenue
19. Resolution - 96 -566 - Authorizing the proper City officials to execute an agreement between the
Minnesota State Agricultural Society (State Fair Board) and the Saint Paul Police Department to provide
various police services.
20. Resolution - 96 -567 - Approving the Cultural STAR Board Recommendations for Cycle 2, Cultural
STAR Program and Attachment A dated May 22, 1996.
21. Resolution Approving Assessment - 96 -568 - In the matter of summary abatements (property clean-
up, snow removal and /or sanding walks) from February through April, 1996, and setting date of public
hearing for July 24, 1996.
