Shoulder to Shoulder: Raising Teens Together is a metro-wide social marketing campaign developed by the Saint Paul - Ramsey County Department of Public Health, the University of Minnesota Extension Service, and a collaboration of organizations and schools. The purpose of this campaign is to support parents and other caring adults in raising teens. One component of this campaign is a 16-page booklet (a copy is enclosed in English and in Spanish) for parents of teens. This campaign provides information on strategies and resources for parents and other caring adults to guide teens into young adulthood. When parents and other caring adults are warm and supportive, provide clear expectations for behavior, and model the respect they expect from teens, there is less need for later interventions that require investment of public resources. More information is available on the Shoulder to Shoulder website: www.shouldertoshoulderminnesota.org For more information please contact Mary Elizabeth Berglund: 651-266-2461 or marvelizabeth.berglund(cr).co.ramsey.mn.us inc Rob Fulton Director enclosures Cf printed on recycled paper with a minimum of 20%post-consumer content Parent Booklet Order Form Believe it or not,the teen years are good years.Contrary to the popular image of teens throwing wild t parties and doing battle with parents, most parents and teens navigate"teenhood"quite well, with relatively few problems. In this 16 page booklet, you'll find ideas to try(from real parents who survived the teenage years!)and read about strategies that may work well for you.The bottom line? You know r= your teen best. The information in this booklet can affirm your wisdom,as well as provide you with support as you guide your teen into young adulthood.
