WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation operates three week long Day Camps for chiidren. At the three
camps, Lake Elmo Day Camp, Mississippi River Camp and Cance Camp, stafF are provided lunch as part of their
work day along with each camper in attendance.
WHEREAS, lunch is considered a camp activity where staff aze required to remain on site for lunch to encourage
children to eat the meal provided, be a positive role model and provide supervision.
WF�REAS, the totai cost for meals each week is appro�cimately $300 to $550. The fees charged to participants
covers the cost of ineals for both campers and staff.
NOW, '�'�RFFORE LET TT BE RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation is authorized to pay for meals
for participants and staff during the summer day camps in the amount not to exceed $1800.
