RE; AUTHORIZATION TO AMEND FAIR MARKET CASH VALUE AND MAKE A REVISED OFFER
ON PARCEL 20-6, THOMAS-DALE/CAPITOL AREA DISTRICT 7
ACTION REQUESTED;
Authorization to amend the established fair market cash value and make an amended offer
on a certain property in the Minnehaha Multi-family housing site, Thomas-Dale/Capitol
Area District 7.
•
PURPOSE AND RATIONALE FOR THIS ACTION:
Funds were appropriated in the 1980 CDBG Budget for use on the Minnehaha Multi-family
Housing Site in Thomas-Dale/Capitol Area District 7. Structures in the 500 block of
Minnehaha Street were inspected for feasibility and four structures were designated for
acquisition. However, between these structureswas a large piece of vacant property
which combined with the acquisition would create a feasible multi-family housing site.
In accordance with the acquisition requirements the owner has the option to obtain a second
appraisal , which was done. Our review appraiser reviewed both appraisals and revised our
offer amount by $5,000. We would, therefore, like to make a revised offer to the owner
for possible settlement and completion of acquisition for the site. If the owner does not
• accept the new offer, the parcel will be placed in condemnation for final court award.
This site is scheduled for development under the McKnight Housing Fund.
