PAUL LYING BETWEEN THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF HILL STREET AND THE NORTHERLY LINE OF SERING STREET IN SAID CITY. N4 To the Honorable The Common Council of the City of St.Paul:- The petition of the St. Paul Gas Light Company respectfully shows:- 1. Thatthe St. Paul Gas Light Company is a corpor- ation organized under the laws of the State of Minnesota, and owns in fee simple lots one (1) and two (2) in Block forty-two (42) , and lot seven (7) and part of lot six (6) in Block twenty-one (21) , al' in Rice & Irvine 's Addition to the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, according to the recorded plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Reister of Deeds of Ramsey County , Minnesota, and id the pwner of all the property fronting on that part of Ohtario Street in the City of St. Ps.ul,between the southerly line of Hill Street and the northerly line of Spring Street; that the principal place of business cf your petitioner is the City of St. Paul,Minne- sota• 2. That hereto annexed and made a part hereof is a true and correct ptat of that part of Ohtario Street pro- posed to be vacated; that said part of Ontario Street is not suitable for a public highway, and is located upon the side of a steep bluff or bank, on account of which it is impossible to use said part of Ontario Street as a public highway; that said part of Ontario Street is of no value or use to the public as a highway, and would be of advantage and use to your peti- 1111111.1 q Al Yr J tioner in connection with its engine rooms, boiler rooms, shops and store houses located on either side of said street, and if vacated could be utilized as a passage way and for the storage of material and coal essential to the conduct of your petitioner 's business as a public service corpora- tion.
