Gentlemen: - Pursuant to instruction of the Committee on Streets of the Assembly, I transmit herewith proper form of resolution vacating Lydia street , Grace street and Sloan street from Montrose avenue to the Miss- issippi River Boulevard ; also all the alleys in Blocks 3 , 6 and 7 and a portion of the north and south alley in in Block 2 , in St . John' s Wood, upon petition of Oliver Crosby and others . The Committee on Streets failed to fix any compensation for this vacation , and I have left the resolution blank as to compensation, except as to the expense of the proceeding . Paul, that all of the alleys in Blocks 3, 6 and 7 and that portion of the north and south alley abutting upon Lot 36 , Block 2, all in St . Tohn' s Wood, an addition to St . Paul , Minnesota; also Lydia street , Grace street and Sloan street from Montrose avenue to the Mississippi River Boulevard, as shown upon said plat , be and the same are hereby vacated and discon- tinued as public alleys and streets, subject , however, to the following conditions , that is to say: Such vacation is upon condition that said petitioners shall, before this resolution takes effect , pay into the treasury of said City the sum of & i/ i/ Dollars , in addition to the expense of this proceeding, which is hereby fixed as the compensation to be paid to said City in consideration of said vacation . Paul , the petition of Oliver Crosby and others , a majority of the owners of all the land and property abutting upon and adjoining the streets and alleys I hereinafter described, praying for the vacation of all of the alleys in Blocks 3 , 6 and 7 and that portion of the north and south alley abutting upon Lot 36 , Block 2 , all in St . John' s Wood, an addition to St . Paul, Minnesota; also Lydia street , Grace street and Sloan street from Mont- rose avenue to the Mississippi River Boulevard, and more particularly v shown and described upon the plat annexed to said petition, which said petition is duly verified as required by law and sets forth the facts and reasons for such vacation; and WHEREAS , Said Assembly deemed it expedient that the matter therein referred to should be proceeded with, and ordered said petition and accompanying plat to be filed of record in the office of the City Clerk of said City , and ordered said City Clerk to give notice by publi- cation in the official paper of said City in the manner and for the time required by law, that said petition and the subject matter thereof would be heard and considered by the Committee on Streets of said Assembly at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chamber in the Court House and City Hall Building in said City on the 2nd day of November, 1908 , at --�-- our o ' clock P .
