Gentlemen:-
The undersigned, your petitiioners, represent that they
are the owners of a major portion of all the property on the line of
that portion of Goff Avenue, in the City of St.Paul , Ramsey County,
and State of Minnesota, to-wit :
Commencing at a Point on the Northeasterly corner of . lock
numbered fifty-five ( 55) West St.Paul Proper, according to the plat
thereof on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds
of said Ramsey County; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of
said Block fifty-five ( 55) to the Southeasterly corner thereof, thence
Easterly along the Northerly line of west Congress Street to the South-
westerly corner of block fifty-foray ( 54 ) said west St.Paul Proper;
thence Northerly along the westerly line of. said Block fifty-four ( 54)
to the Northwesterly corner of said block fifty-four ( 54 ); thence
westerly along the southerly line of west Isabel Street to the place
of begining, being all that part of said Goff Avenue lying and being
between the said blocks fifty-five ( 55) and fifty-four ( 54) aforesaid,
Your petitioners further represent that that Hart of said
Goff Avenue hereinbefore described runs along the side of a high bluff
and no part of said Avenue is now in condition to be used for travel
thereon by the public and has never been opened for travel by said
City although dedicated to Public use nearly fifty ( 50 ) years ago and
cannot be of any value for nubile travel or any other public purpose
in the event , that it was opened, improved or graded and cannot be
opened for public use or travel except at great expense and the same
is not now needed for Use by the public because there are sufficient
other streets giving all desired access to and from all property in
the vicinity of the said Part of said Avenue so described.
That your petitioners own the major port ion or majority
of the property on both sides of said Goff Avenue, abutting the portion
of the said Avenue asked to be vacated, as shown upon the plan or _

plat attached hereto , which Plan or plat shows the situation of all
the property abutting upon said portions of said Avenue hereinbefore
described together with the adjacent property, and there is shown on
said Plan the portion of said Goff Avenue hereinbefore described, and
which your petitioners desire may be vacated in accordance with the
provisions of the City Charter of the city of St.Paul.
Your petitioners, therefore, pray that said Portion of, said
Goff Avenue hereinbefore Particularly described be vacated.
WHEREFORE your Petitioners pray that the said Common Council
shall cause this petition to be filed of record with the City Clerk
of said City, and after giving notice as required by law adopt a res-
olution vacating the portions of said Goff Avenue hereinbefore described.
