Gentlemen: -
The undersigned, being a majority of all owners resident

within the City of St . Paul, and a majority of all the owners of property
along the line of that portion of Ohio Street , hereinafter described,
respectfully petition your honorable body to vacate and discontinue as
a public street, a strip of said street as follows : Beginning at a
point ten (10) feet northerly and 4-75/100ths feet easterly of the
southwesterly corner of lot one (1) , block one hundred and ninety-eight
.
(198) , of Irvine ' s Addition to West St . Paul; thence easterly parallel
with the southerly line of said lot one (1) , 61-02/100ths feet , more or
less ; thence angle to the left , 70° 52' - 61-02/100ths feet to the
intersection with the westerly line of Ohio Street.; thence southerly
on the westerly- line of Ohio Street to beginning, as shown by the an-
nexed plat made a part of this petition.
The facts and reasons for such vacation are that Ohio Street
has never been opened and graded its full width, and your petitioner,
through inadvertence and mistake, erected a building upon lot one (1)
block one hundred and ninety-eight (198) , Irvine ' s Addition to West
St . Paul, which said building now extends over and upon Ohio Street,
and unless this strip above described, is vacated and discontinued, it
will be necessary for your petitioner to remove or tear down said buildin[;
That the vacation of said strip above described will not ,in any way, in-
terfere with the width of Ohio Street , as originally laid out , and will
not , in any way, obstruct said Ohio Street , but in fact will make said
Ohio. Street more regular and improve the appearance of said street . That
said portion above described has never been opened or laid out as a
public street, and has never been used by said city as a public street .
W H E R E F O R E, Your Petitioners pray that said part of
