4 of opinion that the prayer of said petition should be granted, did
51 report its conclusions to said Board of Aldermen, recommending the
61 adoption of a proper resolution declaring such vacation.
NOW, THERRFORE, It is Resolved, By the Common Council of the
8 City of St. Paul, that all that part of Goodhue street lying between
9 Erie street and Duke street in said City, be and the same is hereby
io vacated, subject to the following conditions:
First. That said City shall have and retain the right to
12 maintain, use and operate , and repair and replace any water pipes now
13 in said Goodhue street, and that the owners of the abutting property
1� thereon shall construct and provide any necessary shut-offs on said
i5 street or adjacent thereto that may be required by the Board of Water
16 Commissioners.
17 Second. That said petitioners shall pay into the treasury of
18 said City the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) in addition to the expenses
19 of this proceeding, which is fixed as the compensation to be paid by
20 said petitioners to the City in consideration of said vacation.

Petition for the Vacation of Goodhue Street,
between Duke Street and Erie Street , in the
City of St.Paul,Minnesota.
ELOF P.HOLM and OLOF J.OLSON make petition to the
Common Council of the City of St.Paul, Minnesota , for the vacation
of Goodhue Street in said city, between Duke and Erie Streets.
Said Goodhue Street was originally dedicated to
the Public upon a certain plat in the office of the Register of
Deeds of Ramsey county, Minnesota, known as "Norwood Addition to
St.Paul".
The above petitioners are the owners of all the
property abutting upon both sides of said Goodhue street between
said Erie street and said Duke street , and your petitioners attach
hereto a true and correct plat or blue-print of the portion of said
Goodhue street for the vacation of which this petition is rade.
Said street, for the vacation of which your petition-
ers make application to Your Honorable Body has never in any manner /
been used by the Public. The street has never been opened for public P'
travel or in any mariner graded or subjected to public or municipal
uses. There is no demand for the use of said street for public
travel and said street would not be travelled if the same were
graded or otherwise improved, and the public will not , in the opinion
of your petitioners be seriously inconvenienced or prejudiced by the
vacation of this portion of said street.
Said vacation is asked for because of the fact that
your petitioners desire to make valuable improvements upon the
property, and this will not be practicable unless said street is

vacated. There is a street only sixty feet south of said Goodhue
street between the points herein named, that is now and always will
be, in the opinion of your petitioners, ample and sufficient to
accommodate public travel.
Your petitioners assign as a further reason for the
vacation of said street that the same extends only a few feet in a
westerly direction beyond the blocks herein referred to.
W h e r e f o r e , Your petitioners pray that said
Goodhue street between said Duke street and said Erie street, in
said city of St.Paul may be vacated. The said streets are located
between blocks one (1) and two (2) of said Norwood Addition to
St.Paui, Minnesota.
