Gentlemen:-
The undersigned respectfully state and allege that they are a
majority of the resident owners of property along the line of the Terri-
torial Road between Aline Street and Wheeler Avenue in the City of
St . Paul, and respectfully petition that said Territorial Road between
said points he vacated , except a strip thereof

each side of tee ase t. centre line of said T ritoria oadj the said
centre feet thereof seine reserved for a public street or alley.
The facts and reasons for said
vacation are as follows: For
more than fifteen years last past said Territorial Road between said
points has not been used as a public street, but during a greater part
of said time said Road , excepting a very narrow strip in the centre cve
thereof, which by common consent has been reserved as an alley, has been
covered with barns and out buildings, and is now so covered with said
barns and said out buildings . That petitioners believe that thereis no
necessity of maintaining said Territorial Road at its present width.
That the best interests of the public ano your petitioners will be served
by narrowing said Road to a width of feet as hereinbefore peti -
tioned for. That on both sides of the iort.ion of said Territorial Road
hereby asked to re narrowed the said Territorial Road has been vacated ,
on one side by the straightening of Blair Street and on the other side
/ -
by the straightening of 'Tan Buren Street .
That accompanying this petition is a plat showing the portion
of said Street so sought to be vacated as provided by law.

Resolved, That
by the Board of aldermen of the City of St .Paul to
which body of the common council of said city the attached petition
for the vacation of the Territorial Road between Aldine Street and
Wheeler Ave has been presented by the petitioners, that it is deemed
expedient that the m-Ater set forth in said petition should be
proceeded with, and
It is hereby ordered that the city clerk of the city of St .Paul
be and he is hereby ordered and directed to file of record in his
office said petition and dive notice by publication in the official
paper of said city for four weeks , at least once in each week, to
the effect that said petition has been filed as aforesaid, and statikng
in brief its object , and that said petition will be heard and
considered by the committee on streets of said body of the common
council on the day and at the place to be stated in said notice, not
later than 10 days after the publication of said notice .
