TO THE COITION COUNCIL OF ME CITY OF ST.PAUL: Gentlemen: - The undersigned, being the owners of all the property resident within said city, on the line of that certain public alley known and described as the alley situate in Block 61, Kittson' s Addition to the city of St .Paul, respectfully petition your honorable body to vacate said alley. Your petitioners further set forth that the petitioner Timothy Foley now, owns Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Block 61 of Kittson' s Addition and contemplatesthe erection of a large ',wilding, for use by Foley Bros„ & Kelly, which will be devoted 'to the wholesale trade . That Griggs & Foster are the owners of Tots 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 in Block 61, Kittson' s Addition, upon which is situate the wholesale establishment of Far- well , Ozmun, Kirk & Ccmpany. That located within said alley, by permission heretofore granted by the common council, the Chicago, 1 ' St .Paul, I'inneapolis & Omaha Railway Company now maintairia spur- Id track. That arrangements have been riade between the wholesalw r --, 1. establishments of Foley Bros . & Kelly and Farwell, Ozmun, Kirk & t i // Company for the joint use of said spur-track, but it is necessary, in order to successfully conduct the business of the petitioners, that certain of the tracks be extended inside of the buildings of your petitioners . I That the vacation of said alley would assist materially your petitioners \j_n the conduct of their business, and that said vacation would not inconvenience the traveling public in any manner whatsoever. That the alley as at present maintained is of no benefit or use to the public at large, inasmuch as the corresponding alleys in the bI ocks situates east of said Block 61 have all been vacated and are now used for similar purposes . That \ attached hereto is a plat which shows the alley desired by your petitioners to be vacated.
