The Contract specified date of completion is June 30, 1975. On May 20, 1975, the
Contractor's employees belonging to the Iron Workers Union went on strike which resulted
in stoppage of all his construction operations. Onvarious dates following May 20, 1975,
other union employees also went on strike. Negotiations permitted construction to
again proceed on July 17, 1975, but the delay resulted in the loss of 42 days from the
allotted Contract time. Therefore, in accordance with Paragraph 1.55 of the City of
