ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER,
WHEREAS, the goal of the Saint Paul Sister Cities Program is to provide
international economic, cultural and educational opportunities for the
City of Saint Paul and its Sister Cities in other countries; and
WHEREAS, in order to further this goal , an official delegation from Changsha,
China, including municipal officials, urban planners and civil engineers
will travel to Saint Paul on the first official visit since the formalization
of the Sister City relationship in 1988; and
WHEREAS, it is customary for the hosting Sister City to hold a welcome
dinner for an official delegation from a Sister City; and
WHEREAS, expenses for a welcome dinner for the official Changsha Sister
City Delegation which would include food and beverages will total $250.00.
NOW,THEREFORE, the Department of Planning and Economic Development (PED)
is hereby authorized to hold the Changsha Official Delegation Welcome
Dinner and to use funds from the Sister Cities Budget to finance this
event.
