Canary— Dept. • OFFICE OF THE MAYOR No: !1 Jl ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 'O_no • Date: �l ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, WHEREAS, Congress is holding hearings over the next year on reauthorizing the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, which is the legislation at the federal level governing solid waste management and super fund; and WHEREAS, The act will have implications for the city in the areas of recycling and Pigs Eye landfill cleanup; and WHEREAS, The main benefit to St. Paul will be fighting for limits on Superfund site (Pigs Eye) liability under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act such as under the Minnesota law; and • WHEREAS, Government Refuse Collection and Disposal Assn. (GRCDA) has asked the City to contribute $3,000 to a professional lobbying effort they are undertaking on behalf of member local governments; and WHEREAS, Public Works recommends the City contribute $1,000; Now, THEREFORE, the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to contribge $1,000 from the Infrastructure Management Program for said : lobbying effort.
