An ordinance amending Ordinance NQ. 7841, entitled:
An ordinance regulating and controlling
traffic, riding, driving and travel in the
streets of the City of St. Paul and providing
punishment for the violation thereof, and
repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances
inconsistent herewith. This is an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health and safety,"

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7881, approved December 30, 1937,
as amended, be further amdnded by adding to Section 70 thereof the following:
"Nothing in the foregoing provision of this section,
however, shall prohibit the driver of any taxicab from
parking in any legal parking space or at a parking meter,
provided the proper payment is made therefor for reasonable
periods of time during which said driver is taking his meals
or is on an errand of personal business. During such
periods, however, solicitation of patronage by said drivers
is expressly prohibited."
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace,
health, and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage, approval, and publication.
