This is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting in its proper alphabetical order the following title and specifications: "Title of class: DIRECTOR OF THE ZOO Duties and responsibilities: Under direction, to be responsible for the operation of the Como Park Zoo, including the purchase of animals, the presentation of special animal shows and lectures, and the preparation of literature relating to the zoo; and to perform related work as assigned. Examples of work performed: To supervise the care and feeding and treatment of animals, birds and reptiles in the zoo. To give lectures before civic and other groups. To prepare and present, or arrange for presentationlof, special animal shows. To prepare news items concerning the zoo. To prepare and publish a zoo bulletin or magazine. To supervise and conduct tours of the zoo. To supervise the maintenance of the zoo. To be responsible for proper records and reports. To be responsible for the purchase of foods, supplies and equip- ment. To prepare exhibits and to give lectures at schools. Minimum qualifications: College graduation and five years' supervisory experience in the operation of a zoo.
