"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsibilities
and the minimum qualifications for the various classes of
positions in the Classified Service of the City,"
approved February 13, 1935, as amended:
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting in its
proper alphabetical order the following title and specification:
"Title of class:
"SENIOR MECHANICAL DRAFTSMAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under general supervision, to perform subprofessional work
in the drafting of heating, ventilating, plumbing, and other
mechanical building equipment; and to perform related work
as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To prepare detailed drawings of the plans and to assist in the
writing of specifications for plumbing, heating, ventilating,
air conditioning,] etc.
To make necessary computations such as heat loss, heat gain,
ventilation requirements, humidity control, plumbing re-
quirements, etc.
To check heating, ventilating, and plumbing plans and specificaw
tions for compliance with code requirements.
Minimum qualifications:

High school graduation and four years' experience in architectural-'
or ',mechanical drafting; or college graduation in engineering. "
Section 2. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same

and, by striking out oil the "Minimum Qualifications" in the specifica-
tions for Water Chemist the words "and one year's experience as a
Laboratory Technician";
and, by striking out the "Minimum Qualifications" for Foreman--
Water Department, and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Eighth-grade education and five years'' experience as a Water
Service Foreman. ";
and, by striking out of the "Examples of Work Performed" in the
specifications for Park Foreman the words "and teams";
and, by adding to the "Minimum Qualifications" in the specifications
for Watchman the words "Must be not less than twenty-one years of age.";
and, by striking out the "Minimum Qualifications" in the specifications
for Clerk-Stenographer and Clerk-Typist, and substituting in lieu thereof
the following:
"High school graduation and two yearst office clerical experience.";
and, by striking out the "Minimum Qualifications" in the specifications
for Roller Engineer, and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Eighth-grade education and two yearsr experience in the
operation of road rollers. "
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty
days after its passage, approval, and publication.
