An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7607, entitled:
"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsi-
bilities and the minimum qualifications for the various
classes of positions in the Classified Service of the Gity, "
approved February 13, 1935, as amended. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking the
title and specifications for Junior Testing Machine Operator, and by
inserting in its proper alphabetical order the following specifications for:
Testing Laboratory Helper.

Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace,
health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the first day of the first payroll period following its passage,
approval and publication.

DUtiCE3 and rQsponsibilities:
Under supervision, to assist technicians and testing machine
operators at the City Testing Laboratory; and to perform
related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To collect samples for testing.
To cap and test concrete cylinders, blocks, bricks, etc.
To operate testing machines inside and outside the laboratory.
To use testing sieves and related equipment for materials tested..
To operate a calculating machine, and to prepare reports.
To use testing equipment in the bituminous laboratory.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation.
