This is an emergency - ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health (� and safety." \ approved June 12, 1959, as amended. This is;an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 11490, approved June 12, 1959, as amended, be and hereby is further amended in the follow- ing particulars, to -wit: That Section 11 thereof be and hereby is further amended by inserting therein immediately following the final paragraph of said Section °ll; the following additional paragraphs (g) and (h). "(g) That despite any cottrary provision of this ordinance, hereinabove or hereinafter set forth, for the purposes of this ordinance and severance pay payments hereunder in any;,such case, the written resignation of any such Classified Civil Service employee from said City's employment service, on or after June 12th in the year 1959, shall be deemed to have effected such employee's complete separation therefrom at 11;59 o'clock P. M. on December 31, 1959, provided such employee's written ,waiver of reinstatement thereto shall have been filed with and accepted by the Civil Service Com- missioner not later than March 15, 1960, and pro- vided that such employee shall not have been rein- stated therein subsequent to such resignation and prior to such waiver." "(h) That in each case hereunder where an aggregate period of employment service is made a condition precedent to severance pay, the specified number of years .shall mean the same number of separate twelve months' periods in respect of each whereof the subject employee-.. shall have been regularly and activelyy employed by said City not less than twenty (2 'hours per week for not less than twelve;(12) weeks." ' Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to, be an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety. Section 3.
