Whereas, t6e Saint Paul Police Department is seeldng to pay the transportation, lodging and meals
cost for two staff members (non-city employee) of Face to Face Academy and collaborative grant partner,
and a student of Face to Face Academy to attend the School Based Partnership Technical Assistance
Workshop in Charlotte, NC from OMOber 16-18,1999.
Whereas, the purpose of t6is conference is to offer training, direction and information to help attendees,
nfilize collaborative problem-sotving to address the selected problem in the school focns.
Whereas, this training will help them to better prepare themselves to provide the services that they give
to the Saint Paul Police Department and the City of Saint Paul, and
BE Tf ORDERED, that the 5aint Paul Police Department is authorized to remit payment for the above
mentioned training seminar, not to egceed S/,000.00.

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services has offered a workshop, dealing with crime
and disorder in the schools. As part of the COPS Office's continued commitment to advancing
commun9.ty policing, the woYkshop sessions will be designed to help attendees; analyze finding
and obstacles. Sfiare data, brainstorming techniques, creativiCy and team building, generatin
responses, and sustaining collaborative problem solving in schools and communities.
