ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER,
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library will hold an all day workshop/Porum on the future
of libraries on June 2nd, 1999 which will include furnishing refreshments to the
participants, and
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library has received monies £rom The Friends o£ the Saint
Pau1 Public Library, Perrie Jones Library Fund to pay all costs for the events, and
WHEREAS, It benefits the Gity to have staff attend training sessions, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, It is ordered that library officials are authorized and
directed to undertake the staging of the events and remit the cost for refreshments, not
to exceed $1,000 to the proper parties.

The Library, with monies provided by The Friends of the Library, Perrie 7ones Library Fund, will have a
workshop/forum on Libraries of the Future. Rapidly changing formats of information and demands for
cervices/materials in different formats make this an ideal workshop to meet and discuss ways of ineeting the needs
'patrons for library service in the future.
