1 Whereas, the Saint Paul Police Department is seeking endorsement to sponsor the Annual
2 Police Memorial Day Ceremony and Recepfion on Wednesday, May 14,1999 at noon in Mears
3 Park. In case of inclement weather, it will be held in Town Square Park on the third floor. This is in
4 conjunction with NaHonal Police Memorial Week, a celebration o£Law Enforcement throughout
5 the United States.

Whereas, the purpose of our Ceremony is to honor all the Saint Paul Police Officers who have given
their lives in the line of duty. The surviving famiLies of our Officers are personally invited to share in
this solemn expression of reverence. This event is also open to the general public.
Whereas, the Police Department is requesting an ADNIINISTRATIVE ORDER to allow no more
than $1,000.00 from account #04000-03�-40001 to cover the costs of refreshments, serving and
eating utensils, decorations and other miscelianeous espenses on a yearly basis.
BE IT ORDERED, the proper city of6cials are hereby authorized to pay for the above mentioned
Ceremony, not to exceed $1000.00 on a reoccuring yearly basis.
