An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3250X, entitled:
"An administrative ordinance relating to the Civil Service
Bureau of the City of Saint Paul, approving and adopting rules and
regulations therefor,"
approved August 20., 1914, as amended. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3250X, approved August 20, 1914,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out
Section 35 E., and by substituting in lieu thereof the following: _

E VACATION-- In each calendar year, each regular, provisional
and probationary employee, except those paid under Section 8 G
of these Rules, shall be granted vacation at the rate of ten work-
ing days per year. After five years of full-time service each
such employee shall be granted, vacation at the rate of fifteen
working days per year. After twenty years of full-time service
each such employee shall be granted vacation at the rate of
twenty working days per year. Any such employee employed
prior to the effective date of this ordinance shall in no case be
granted vacation at a rate of less than fifteen working days per
year. Any employee who does not work f time shall be grant-
ed vacation on a pro rata basis. The ti of vacation shall be
fixed -by the head of the department in which the employee is
employed. "
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, _
health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after ' January 1, 1963.
