WHEREAS, on December 15, 16, 17, & 18, 1998, eight employces from the Office of Human
Resources will be certifie� as facilitators for Zenger Miller.
Wf�REAS, refreshments for each morning (coffee, juice, assorted rolls, or bagels), an
afternoon snack (pop & cooldes), and a lunch on December 18, will be provided.
BE TT ORDERED that pursuant to the 1998 City Budget, the proper Ciry officials are hereby
suthorized to remit an amount not to c�cceed $900 to Metropolitan State University for rental
of room and equipmzrn, and not to e�cceed $200 to Aramark for catering services.

The office of Human Resources is in the process of moving from a traditional structure
of specialists and the role of a gatekeeper to one of generalist, problem solvers and
consultants. This seminar teaches skills to help HR staff provide value added consulting
and training assistance to managers and employees throughout the City.
AWANTAGES IF APPROVED:
Staff wi11 begin to deploy the skills and competencies learned in the facilitation ceriti-
fication seminar and thus provide a fuller range of service to our clients and customers.
