Lais Corporation Counsel Building Dear Sir: MRS. AGNES H. O'CONNELL City Clerk HAROLD J. RIORDAN Council Recorder December 6, 1962 IVRlm DEC 7 - 10 "T" CORPORATION C00SEL The City Council requested that you prepare an ordinance granting the attached petition to rezone to "C" Residence District property at the southwest corner of Western and Harrison Aves., also described as Lots 1 and 2, Block 10, Terrace Park Addition. Very truly yo/urs,, I 4 City Clerk CITY OF SAINT PAUL — MINNESOTA a N .......... ... .: R D OF 451 -434 -459 ZONING, CITY OF SAINT PAUL 1915 CITY HALL AND COURT HOUSE SAINT PAUL 4, MINNESOTA December 5, 1962 Mrs. Agnes H. O'Connell City Clerk Building Dear Madam: This is in the matter of the petition of Celestine King to rezone from "B" to "C" residence property located at the southwest corner of Western and Harrison Avenues which is described as Lots 1 and 2, Block 10, Terrace Park Addition. On November 2, 1962, the Commissioner of Finance reported the peti- tion sufficient with the owners of 8 of a possible 12 (66 2/3 %) tracts of land within the prescribed 100 foot radius having signed the petition. The property is vacant and is an irregularly shaped tract of land having a frontage of 161.17 feet on Western Avenue, 141 feet on Harrison Avenue, and an average depth from Western Avenue of 120 feet resulting in a total area of approximately 14,538 square feet. Northwest and across Harrison Avenue are various commercial and resi- dential uses which will be acquired for the Pleasant Avenue leg of the Freeway; directly west and fronting on Harrison Avenue are several older single - family residences; directly south and adjoining in this block are several older single - family residences which front on Western Avenue; eaiit and across Western Avenue is the Jefferson school play- ground. The Board of Zoning considered this matter at their regular meeting on November 15 and because of the proximity of the freeway and the school, believe that this rezoning request is a reasonable one. There- fore, the Board of Zoning recommends the granting of the petition to rezone the above described property to a "C" residence district. HCW :FGI Encl. Z. F. 5081 Sincerely, IN . C H. C.
