THIS IS AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
RENDERED NECESSARY FOR THE
PRESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC
PEACE, HEALTH AND SAFETY.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That subsection (b) under Section 1, shall
be deleted-and in place thereof shall be inserted the following:
Each application shall be accompanied
by a writing in such form as the Cor-
poration Counsel shall require, signed
by the owners or lessees of the property
abutting the street upon which each
bench is proposed to be located, giving
such owners' or lessees' consent to.the
installation and maintenance of such
bench at the proposed location. The
consent of the abutting - property owners
or lessees shall be required only where
the proposed location of a bench is in
an area where the abutting - property is
zoned residential or multiple dwelling.
The applicant shall furnish therewith
such evidence of ownership or lease as
shall be required by the Corporation
Counsel.
and, Paragraph 2 under subsection (d) in Section 1 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Not more than four hundred (400) applica-
tions shall be granted per year.
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force upon its passage, approval and publication.
