THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOZS ORDAIN:
Section 1. +That Ordinance .No. .6.446, .approved Ja.nuary23, 1925,
As .amended, be and the same is..her.eby furthei .amended by striking out
Section IV C, and by substituting in lieu thereof, the following:
Section,
IV C If at, the time of the. death of .any employee, the City is indebted
to such employee for work, labor or services performed or for
accumulated credits, for vacation or overtime., and no- executor
or administrator of his. or her estate has. been appointed, the
City shall, upon the request. of the surviving .spouse -, pay such
indebtedness. in-an amount as may _b.e due, not exceeding the sum
of One Thousand Dollars ($l, 000. 00), to: the surviving spouse.
The City shall require the claimant to give proof of his. or her
relationship to: decedent, by affidavit, and 'require- a written
receipt far such payment made. Action taken under and pursuant,
to this amendment. shall. be-by re.s.olution of the Council.
Section .2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty -
.days. after its-passage, .approya.l, and publication.
