An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3250, entitled:
"An administrative ordinance relating to the Civil Service
Bureau, of the City of _Saint Paul, approving and adopting rules. and
regulations therefor,'
approved August 20, 1914, as. amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL. DOHS ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3250, approved August 20, 1.914,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the
first paragraph of Section 28 including subsections lettered (a), (b), (c),
and (d), and by substituting in lieu thereof the. following:
"Section
28 PROMOTION --
•` For the purpose of this Section 28, the term "promotion' shall mean --
(a) .. Any appointment from a position in Section 6 of the Rules
s to any other position in the Classified Service, except a
^position in the Police or Fire occupational groups, or
(b) - Any appointment from a position in Section 7 of the Rules -
to any other position in the. Classified Service, excerpt a
position in the Police or .Fire occupational groups, or
(c) Any appointment from a position, in the Police occupational
group to .a4ther' position, in the Police occupational
If group, or
(d) Any appointment from a position in the Fire occupational
group to arYpther position in the Fire. occupational group."
Section 2. This. ordinance shall take effect and be. in force thirty
days after its passage, approval, and publication.
