RD OF ZONING, :CITY OF SAINT PAUL kt NSloii 251 - 232 -253 1715 CITY "ALL AND COURT "OUSE SAINT PAUL 7, MINNESOTA July 1, 1964 Mr. Robert J. Gerber Jil. City Clerk Building P Dear Sir: This is in the matter of the petition of.Clifford White to rezone from 1'B" to commercial district property located on the north side of Maryland Avenue at MacKubin Street extended north, and which is des- cribed as the west 125',feet of the south 198.07 feet of Lot 39, lying north of Maryland Avenue, Cottage Homes Addition. On April 8, 1964, the Commissioner bf Finance reported the petition sufficient with the owners of 6 of a possible 9 (66 2/3 %) tracks of land situated within the prescribed,100 foot radius having signed the petition. The subject property is presently developed, in part, with a trailer rental business which fronts on West Maryland Avenue and a two - family residence which is located at the north end of the site. In July, 1959, the Council granted the petitioner a five -year condi- tional permit to operate the present trailer- rental business which per- mit will expire in July of this year. The purpose of the requested rezoning is to place the existing trailer - rental business in a proper zoning classification. The Board of Zoning considered this matter at its regular meeting on. June 4, 1964. The staff reported that because of the substantial development in this area during the past five- years, it would be reasonable to rezone the property to a - commercial district at this Ir time. In consideration of this factor, the Board of Zoning recommends the granting of the- petition,to rezone the above described property to a Commercial district. y 2 .3 - Sincerely, • k B. R.
