An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3250 entitled: "An administrative ordinance relating to the Civil Service Bureau of the City of Saint Paul, approving and adopting rules and regulations therefor," approved August 20, 1914, as amended. The Council of the City of Saint Paul Does Ordain: SECTION 1 That said ordinance as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by deleting Item 2 of subsection B Section 9 which reads as follows: 2. "Any employee holding a position in Grade 60 or higher, or any employee holding a position in Section 7 of the Rules whose hourly rate times 173 1/3 is equivalent to or more than the maximum rate for Grade 60, shall in no case be paid for overtime work. If such an employee is directed to work overtime in order to preserve the pub- lic peace, health, or safety, he shall be granted com- pensatory time on an hour for hour or day for day basis." and the following inserted in lieu thereof: 2. "Any employee holding a position in Grade 60 or higher which position is basically a supervisory position, or any employee holding a position in Section 7 of the Rules whose hourly rate times 173 1/3 is equivalent to or more than the maximum rate for Grade 60, and which position is basically a supervisory position, shall in no case be paid for overtime work. If such an employee is directed to work overtime -in order to preserve the public peace, health or safety, he shall be granted com- pensatory time on an hour for hour or day for day basis. Any employee holding a position in Grade 60 or above whose position is not basically a supervisory position or any employee holding a position in Section 7 of the Rules whose hourly rate times 173 1/3 is equivalent to or more than the maximum for Grade 60 whose position is not basically a supervisory position, who shall be re- quired to work overtime by the head of the department shall be granted compensatory time on an hour for hour basis or day for day basis or at the discretion of the head of the department, the employee may be paid for such overtime work at such employee's regular rate for each hour of overtime worked."
