An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 11762, t
approved June 21, 1960, entitled: ;v
"An ordinance granting to Northern States ;t
Power Company, a corporation organized under ~"
the laws of the State of Minnesota, its suc-
cessors and assigns, permission to use the
streets and other public property located in
the City of Saint Paul for the purpose of
conducting and supplying electricitX,for all
purposes for a term of ten (10) years from and
after Januaryll, 1961, prescribir;g�xates which
the Grantee may charge for such %ae vipe, and
determining the amount which the Grantee shall
pay to the City for the use and occupancy of
-'its streets and other public property."
This,`is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary
for the preservation of the public peace, health,
and safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That City of Saint Paul Ordinance No. 11762,
approved June 21,, 1960, hereby is amended in the following particulars, to -wit:
That hereby there is added thereto and inserted in Section 4 of
said ordinance, immediately preceding the final paragraph of the same, the
following paragraph, to -wit: t
"When written.- not icehas. been _ filed by Grantee
o:e such revisions, new schedules, or withdrawals,
there is reserved to the Council the power and
authority, exercisable at its discretion, to adopt
its resolution approving the subject revisions, new
schedules, or withdrawals and specifying the effective
date of the same as any date within 60 days after such
filing by Grantee, but after published notice by City
Clerk of such filing, provided that the date specified
by such resolution shall be requested in the written
notice filed by Grantee."
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace.,, health,
and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in'force
upon its passage, approval, and publication.,
Section 4. This ordinance is dependent for its operative effect
upon the Graiateel's filing of its written assent to the same with the City -Clerk
not later than the date of publication.
