ordinance amending Chapter 152 of the St. Paul
Legislative Code pertaining to Taxicabs - Licenses. This
is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the
preservation of the public peace, health and safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Section 152.09 of the St. Paul
Legislative Code, entitled, "Vehicles - Requirements" is
hereby amended by inserting a new subsection (1) ahead of the
present subsection (1), said new subsection (1) to read as
follows:
"(1) Every vehicle licensed initially as a
taxicab shall be a new vehicle. Said vehicle
shall be replaced by a new vehicle within three
years of the date said vehicle is first licensed
as a taxicab. A 'new vehicle' for'the purpose
of this subsection is defined as a vehicle in
a new and unused condition."
and b renumberin the present subsections (1) through (6)
as (2}y through (7 in sequence.
Sec. 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication.
