'BOARD OF ZONING., CITY ,OF SAINT PAUL
23-4151 Room 20 CITY HALL & COURT =HOUSE SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA 55102
September 9•, 1965
Mr. Robert B. Gerber-
City Clerk
Building
Dear Sir:
This is in reply to the referral of the petition of Mrs. Lorena Handt
to rezone from light industry to "All residence property located at
the southwest corner of Arlington Avenue and'Sylvan Street which is
described as Lots 26 thru 30, Block 8, Hager's Sub. of Lots 1 thru 7
and 14 thru 18 of Wolcott's Addition to Cottage Homes.
In a letter dated July 28, 1965, the Commissioner of Finance reported
the Petition sufficient with the owners of 15 of _a possible 21 (71.4%)
tracts of land within the prescribed 1001 radius having signed the
Petition.
The Board of-Zoning considered this matter at its regular meeting on
August 19, 1965. , The 'staff reported that the purpose of the rezoning
was to preserve the residential character of the neighborhood and that
the rezoning of this property would place it in a zoning district
compatible with the use of the property and that of the immediate area.
In consideration of these factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the
granting of the petition to rezone the above described property to an
"All residence district.
Sincerely,
NRH/mm N. R.
