ord'I'nance amending Ordinance No. 6446, entitled:
"An administrative ordinance fixing the com-
pensation rates of certain city positions and employments, "
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23, 1925,
as amended, ,' be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out
+ of Section I A the numbers 13 through 92, where they appear under the
Yeas
heading "Standard Range Number "; and by substituting in lieu thereof the
numbers 11 through 90, respectively.
Section 2. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is
hereby further amended by striking out Section I B and substituting in lieu
thereof the following:
"Section
I B STANDARD RANGE -- The Standard Range applicable to each
of the classes established in Section 6 of the Rules shall be the
Standard Range having the same number as the grade in which
the class appears. The salaries payable shall be the rates set
forth in the Standard Ranges as adjusted by the Council by
resolution. "
Section 3. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is
hereby further amended by striking out Section I E and Section I F, and
substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section I
E ASSISTANT TO THE CITY ARCHITECT-- Notwithstanding the
provisions of Section I of Ordinance No. 6446, as amended, the
bi- weekly salary payable to the incumbent in the position of
Assistant To The City Architect shall be $612. 21.
F RESEARCH ANALYST III -- Notwithstanding the provisions of
Section I of Ordinance No. 6446, as amended, the bi- weekly salary
payable to the incumbent in the position of Research Analyst III
shall be $416.73. "
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty
days after its passage, approval, and publication.

This ordinance merely provides for procedural changes in the salary ordinance to
pave the way for the implementation of the salary resolution recently adopted by the
Council. It does not change any salaries at this time, but makes possible the smooth
transition to the new salary rates which become effective January 1, 1967.
